Note: Iron-on patches do not generally adhere well to fabrics like leather, nylon, rayon, or waterproof fabric. But they can totally be sewn on to many types of fabrics : )
Before proceeding, make sure your fabric is compatible with high heat/ironing.
Step 1: Determine where you want to place the patch
Step 2: Heat iron on high and place clothing/bag on ironing board
Step 3: Place patch on desired area (design side up)
Step 4: Cover the patch with a fabric like a cotton sheet, thin towel, or pillowcase (to protect the design and fabric)
Step 5: Hold iron firmly down on the entire patch for 15 seconds, let cool, and check to see if all patch edges are well adhered. If not, repeat this step once more.
Step 6: Turn patched item inside out (if possible) and repeat steps 4-5
This makes sure that the patch is well adhered.
Step 7: Let everything cool. Remember to turn off the iron!
Important: To extend the life of your patch, do not wash clothing/items with adhered patches in the washing machine. Carefully hand wash.
